Summary

Hollywood could meet the caliber of this story only by adopting it. The tangled web is as follows: In an election year, a U.S. congressman (Swindall) is arranging construction financing for a new home in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He is introduced in Washington, D.C. by a reputable Atlantan (Steve Renda) to a "reputable" Washingtonian (LeChasney). LeChasney offers to arrange Pat's financing via LeChasney's "foreign investors." These investors, Pat is convinced, are political departees from countries at odds with the U.S., therefore requiring their identities to remain unknown. LeChasney plans to accomplish the financing through a newly-found "investor" (Mullaney) whose actual intent is to "bust" LeChasney along with any and all others involved with him.

A naive but honest Pat Swindall entered a dangerous, perhaps deadly, scene. Mullaney undoubtedly hoped to add a U.S. congressman to his bust list. With the help of Atlanta attorney, Craig Gillen, then U.S. Attorney General, Bob Barr, and America's liberal media, Mullaney convinced the country that Pat behaved dishonestly. Mullaney succeeded despite Pat's honest defiance of Mullaney's attempts to get Pat to commit a crime.

Matthew 5:10-11 drew near: "Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. v11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake."
