Summary

Liberals vociferously advocate "tolerance." Yet they devise unconstitutional, ineffective schemes to achieve it. Under their guise of tolerance, such schemes enslave and degrade the masses. The U. S. Constitution, with its Bill of Rights, is the epitome of true, effective, workable tolerance. Liberals raise a hue and cry about it; the Constitution protects it.

Many in secular "freethought" circles encourage Christians to read their Bible, claiming it would make them atheists. Perhaps if secularists read the Constitution, they would become Americans!

Indeed, "Absolute power tends to absolutely corrupt." 9 Thomas Jefferson warned, "Bind men [the government] down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution." 10 If government wished to implement programs that in practice would harm its people, would it present those programs as harmful or as beneficial? Would it not attempt to convince its victims such programs are for their own good? On face value, who opposes the professed benefits of what government agencies and programs claim to provide? Who denies that people need to eat despite illness or other calamities? Who opposes children or elders or blind persons or paralyzed persons or women or deaf persons or persons whose income is less than $10,000 per year? Does opposition to governmental social programs, ostensibly devised to benefit a particular group, actually evince disregard for, or even opposition to, that group?

Unfortunately, any deep investigation will uncover that not only do government programs tend to create and fuel social ills, they also hinder private sector solutions. The United States Government wields more control over the lives, businesses, and property of Americans than ever. Meanwhile the nation’s social ills skyrocket.

Liberals often ask questions such as, "How can we be protected from big business without government regulations?" Friends, government is the big business citizens need protection against!

America remained strong when a "buck" remained silver. When it became a Federal Reserve Note, it reduced its nation to paper and ink. Less than three decades later, that "paper and ink" nation bankrupted. The good times ended- for good?

Such is The Effect of allowing big government decades of liberty to shanghai constitutionalists from office. 11 Occasionally, constituents elect honest politicians. That rare breed needs all the support and encouragement constituents can muster to "bind the government down from mischief."

Though one shanghaied politician is out of office, he is not out of commission. He is running as an Independent this year against Bob Barr for Congress. Georgians owe it to themselves and their country to support and vote for Swindall's rightful return to office.
